2-1-14 Waltz Workshop with Erik Erhardt 3-5pm $15, students-$5

Waltz workshop description
This rotary waltz workshop will emphasize connecting with your partner and developing sequences of moves that complement the musical phrases. Flowing sequences will be built from building-block moves from the three most common holds: cuddle, cape, and closed positions.  There will be something for everyone.

Prof Erik Erhardt (Abq, NM) understands the subtleties of making dancing satisfying and joyful. In his engaging and entertaining manner, Erik teaches sequences of moves that can be used as is or broken down and combined in many ways. His teaching is encouraging, clear, and detailed. He believes that dancing is not about fancy moves (though, you’ll learn some), but more importantly about connecting with your partner, the music, and the flowing community on the floor.

“I’ve made it to two of Erik’s Waltz Workshops. His workshops provide a structured way to learn figures you can use on the dance floor that night. He’s great on the mic, and provides that personal touch that makes for a fun workshop.” — Jeff B.

After the workshop we could go out for a bite to eat before the evening techno contra dance.
