The Tucson Friends of Traditional Music a 501c3 charitable Corporation, organized under the laws of the State of Arizona. We promote the cultural heritage of the founding of America with the diverse musical background that has spread from the British Isles.
As a nonprofit cultural heritage organization, we operate with a volunteer Board of Directors. We use an Active Board model where each board members assumes periodic duties to meet the legal requirements of the Corporation. As of Summer 2011 we have nine members and the board meets on four to six week intervals.
As a corporation, we incur debts and liabilities, and maintain a regular set of activities. This includes our regular Saturday Contra Dances, Special dances, A weekend Dance Camp in November each year, co-sponsering musical concerts, and providing information opportunities on the cultural heritage of Contra Dancing and Traditional Music.
Our Board of Directors meetings are open to all members and will be posted on our Schedule of Events for the next meeting. The upcoming meeting is set by consensus as a final activity of a current meeting.
