Tucson Friends of Traditional Music (TFTM) is dedicated to keeping the traditions of community music and dance alive and growing in Tucson.  TFTM sponsors and promotes concerts, dances, workshops, and informal music sessions.  Through these activities and a newsblog for discussion, TFTM builds awareness, educates, and fosters diversity in music and dance in the Tucson community.
Tucson Friends of Traditional Music is incorporated in the state of Arizona as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. We have been actively promoting Traditional Music since 1976 by supporting musicians that want to learn the older tunes in the time-tested way of “learning by ear”. The semi-monthly “fast jam” is a great way to learn tunes, brush up skills and pick up speed on tunes previously learned.
TFTM is a group affiliate of the Country Dance and Song Society and the North American Alliance for Folk Music and Dance (Folk Alliance). Contra Dancing and Traditional Music groups are found in every city in the United States. Our members travel all over the globe to attend Contra Dances or to play Traditional Music. TFTM is part of a much larger community of Dancers and Musicians.
TFTM is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.  All functions of TFTM are volunteer run.
