Contradance 102: Care of Fellow Dancers Workshop

4:00 THIS SAT. MARCH 5 (before the dance) DON’T MISS THIS SECOND OF THREE SPECIAL ‘DANCE SKILLS’  WORKSHOPS WITH TAVI MERRILL AND CLAIRE ZUCKER (and pizza party)

Contradance 102: Care of Fellow Dancers

Take connectivity to the next level. Participants will experience and analyze how subtle verbal and nonverbal cues can help newcomers, disoriented and, yes, even  blindfolded dancers be in the right place at the right time.

Practicing care of fellow dancers not only helps reinforce a set against breakdowns, it improves one’s own experience of dancing with partner, foursome, and the entire room.

Dancers may find that active communication also helps overcome confusing end effects in more intricate dances! Join us on March 5 when we’ll come together to make contra dance a richer and more satisfying experience for all.

Familiarity with core contra dance figures – such as chains, swings, and waves – is recommended.

MARCH 5, 2016 Workshop time: 4-5:30pm
