This newsblog is owned by Tucson Friends of Traditional Music and has been set up to share interest, news, discussion, and announce events in regards to contra dancing and music in Tucson and Arizona. This site, along with a monthly email update, are taking the place of the monthly paper TFTM newsletter which is no longer being published. We know there will be a few folks who will miss the paper version but for economic and environmental reasons going online makes good sense. This new format will also ease the burden of collecting and distributing contra info from the shoulders of a single newsletter volunteer editor by having multiple contributors adding information whenever they wish.
Both text and images(jpg format) can be posted as well as video, even YouTube. Music and sheet music in pdf format can be uploaded and will show as links. Embedded text links can link back to, say a musician’s web site. Events such as dances, concerts, dance camps etc., can be posted to show in the calendar and as a list in the sidebar. Comments can be made to posts. More stuff(enhancements) will be added to facilitate spreading the word on contra dancing and music.
Callers, musicians, dance organizers, and others interested in promoting contra dancing are encouraged to become contributors!
