Ongoing Activities Of Traditional Music and Dance

Contra Dance, First United Methodist Church, 915 E. 4th St. (between Park & Tyndall), on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, most 5th Saturdays of the month, 8-11pm, beginners’ instruction at 7:30.

Irish Jam Session at the Auld Dubliner,800 E. University Blvd (Southeast corner of Euclid and University): Traditional Irish jam session every Sunday from 4-8 PM. First hour is for beginners/intermediate. Info: (520) 206-0323

Celtic & Old-Time Jams: Open Jam sessions

Slow Jam 2nd & 4th Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 PM, at the Rincon Market at 6th St & Tucson Blvd.   Contact Jamie Massey (er4azaolcom  er4azaolcom   ) with questions and for playlist.

Fast Jam 1st & 3rd Tuesdays, 7:00-9:00 PM, at the Pizza Hut, at 2943 N. Campbell (1/2 mile north of The Folk Shop).  Tunes from the TFTM Tune Book and some other sources, or come teach us some new tunes.

Open Band: Come and play for a contra dance on open band night, usually (but not always) the 3rd Saturday of each month.  Check the schedule and join the email discussion list at TucsonOpenBand.org

Shape Note Singing: First and third Saturdays, 3-5 PM, Sonoran Co-Housing Common Room, 501 E. Roger Rd. Info: (520) 682-6201

Second Saturday Acoustic Music Song Circle & Singalong: 7 PM3071 W San Juan Dr. Lead a song, perform a song, or just sing/play along. Lyric books supplied, bring a snack if you choose. Contact Fred Grosvenor for directions Fdg_sdyahoocom .

Monthly Pot Lucks (for TFTM members and friends) – 6 pm-9pm, most 1st Sundays. 3227 E. Glenn St., 906-0352.
